The 2023 Comfy Clash

Dates and Locations:

All quarter-finals and semi-finals will be held at the Hairy Lemon (28 Avenue B, New York, NY).

Quarter-Finals:  

September 6th @ 7pm and 8:30pm

September 13th @ 7pm and 8:30pm

September 20th @ 7pm and 8:30pm

September 27th @ 8pm

October 4th @ 8pm

October 11th @ 8pm

October 18th @ 8pm

October 25th @ 8pm

Semi-Finals: Every Wednesday in November @ 8pm (no show November 22nd).

The final will be held at the Comic Strip Live (1568 2nd Ave, New York, NY)

Final: December 14th @ 8:00pm (Date subject to change)

Format:

Each contest comic will perform a 5-minute set. At the end of the show, each audience member will select their top 3 comics.

The 3 comics with the most points in each quarter-final will advance to the semi-final round.

The comic with the most points in each semi-final will advance to the final round. In the semi-final round, the two second place finishers who get the highest percentage of total points in their respective semi-finals will also advance to the final.

As always, Comfy Comedy shows do not have drink minimums. There is also no bringer requirement, however, audience votes will decide the outcome of the contest.  

Prize:

The winner of the contest will:

• Win $250
• Be declared the 2023 Comfy Clash Champion
• Win our respect (but you can throw that away if you want)

How To Enter:

Signups will open on August 6th. Please do not enter before this date, as your entry will not be considered. You must be 21+ years of age to enter the contest.

To apply for the contest, please send the following to either info@comfycomedy.com or via Direct Message to @comfycomedynyc on Instagram:

• A 5-minute video (or link) of your standup
• A photo of yourself (head shot)
• A list of any contest dates when you would be unable to perform

All submissions must be received by 11:59pm (Eastern Time) on August 20th.

The competition spots will go to comics chosen by Comfy Comedy based on their video submissions. Please only enter the contest if you are available to perform on at least 2 of the quarter-final dates, at least 1 of the semi-final dates, and on the date of the final. 

The competing comics and quarter-final match-ups will be announced on August 21st. Stay tuned to @comfycomedynyc for updates.  Thanks and good luck!
